Viva Las Vegas 13 Weekend Part 2

We got up and out to the show around 7:30 in the morning to set up. We had a pretty good spot and the weather was perfect.
Ready for business.
I finally got to meet some of the people I submit work to. This is Barb, publisher Geno DiPol and Editor Alan Mayes of Car Kulture Deluxe and Ol Skool Rodz.
My two homies from Vegas, Nate and Jeff. It was great seeing the two. Jeff invited us to go out after the show for Hawaiian BBQ but we were too tired to do anything afterwards. Jeff we will have to catch up next time we are up there. Hopefully you two make it out for the Born Free show in June.
It was really cool to see people who visited our booth from two years ago at the last Viva show we were at and seek us out again to buy more stuff. This is Alexis and Robert. They got married at the last show and were back again. It was good to see them. Thank you guys for coming to see us.
Sorry about the photo. If you still want it let me know. We'll figure something out.
They just got married that day.
Young Joyrides Art Co. supporters.
Matt and Kevin also were at our booth the last time we were there. Thanks guys for the support.

Viva Las Vegas 13 Weekend Part 1

Liz and I drove out on Thursday for the show. We were looking forward to making the trip out to Vegas and enjoy the 3 day Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend show. We packed the van with Joyrides goodies and hit the road.
Took us a little over 5 hours to get here. Traffic on the 60 Fwy sucked. Stopped in Barstow and then made it in.
Show was at The Orleans Hotel. Bigger and better than before.
That night Liz was on a mission to get her boot.
Hung out at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. Liz drank her boot while I enjoyed so good ol' PBR.

Gambled later that night. My big winnings and all I could afford late nite snack. Check back tomorrow to see some of the supporters who stopped by..

Random Things In Morro Bay

A few things I saw down at Morro Bay.
The rail job Daniel built for the weekend shoot. Water was gross.
Early evening I took a walk around the bay. Cool metal art.
The sunset behind the rock.
At breakfast on Saturday there was a get together of cars in the parking lot.
People just hanging out and enjoying the Saturday morning.

It was a nice little get away for 2 days. Back to work tomorrow and then off to Vegas on Thursday. Yeah!!!!!

Riding The Sand Dunes in Morro Bay

I drove up to Morro Bay on Friday in hopes of shooting some wakeboard action later in the day with Pro Wakeboarder Daniel Doud and Shelby Kantar. Daniel was building a double rail system at a pond near his house. He had been working on it for the last 3 days and still wasn't finished. So we didn't get to start shooting till Saturday morning.
Scott Smith was up there with me filming parts for a upcoming wakeboard movie for Body Glove called Slick City. Here he interviews Daniel about what he is about to do. For the last few years Daniel said he wanted to wakeboard across the sand dunes across the harbor in Morro Bay. Since you can't drive boats or jet ski's in the harbor he needed to use a wench. A motorized pully controlled by his buddy that would pull him into the dunes. We got started around 8:45 a.m. at high tide.
Daniel's first few pulls were successful. He would ollie over the wetsand onto the dune and ride across. He tried a few passes to get the feel of it and then he went high on the dunes.
Here he is hitting it close to the top.
And then he tried incorporating tricks. As you can see this one didn't go to well.
His girlfriend, Shelby Kantar, tried after Daniel was done. At this time the tide dropped and Shelby had to ollie farther which made her hit the dune rather than glide into it. She tried a few times and mostly just eating shit!
Here is another good wipe out by Daniel. Perfect leg extention.

This was Shelby after her last wipe out. She was over it. After this we packed up. Went down the street in the bay and had breakfast. Hung out with his family for awhile and then headed over to Los Osos to the pond and ride the rails.

Morro Bay

Out in Morro Bay today to shoot with Pro Wakeboarder, Daniel Doud. Turns out they are building a rail and weren't done yet. So me and my buddy took off to the downtown area of Morro Bay to get something to eat. Saw these two cars parked on the street so I shot a few pics. There was a sign set up behind them that said Bear Metal Kustoms.
