Science Project Sunday

Spent my Sunday afternoon with daughter, Brooke, working on her science project due this week. So we open up a science book blindly look and point to a project and say that's the one we are doing.  The object was to make two glasses stick together without using glue.
Step 1: Cut a piece of rubber slightly bigger than the cup. Cut a hole in the center of the sheet of rubber.

Step 2: Place the cut piece of rubber on top of one cup.

Step 3: Drop a piece of paper in the other cup.

Step 4: Light the piece of paper on fire.

Step 5: Quickly place the other cup over it and make sure you have a complete seal between the two glasses.

Step 5: And if all goes good you should have two glasses stuck together.  What does two glasses stuck together do to help you? Absolutely nothing but if I had to spend most of my Sunday working on this project I was sharing my joy with the rest of you!

Cro Customs

One guy that I had the pleasure of meeting last year was Caleb Owens of Cro Customs.  Great guy who builds some of the best bikes around.  Check out his blog and see the progress he is making on his Born Free 4 invite Bike Build.  He tore down his shop bike Shovel and is going to make something that is going to be pretty amazing.  I got a picture of the drawing but I will let Caleb show you his finished product when he is done.  You won't be disappointed.  Go here to take a look.

The Speed Merchant Website

Spent the last week reworking the Speed Merchant website "Gallery"section.  Bigger pictures and added spec tech to each bike.  So I thought I was finished and uploaded it to the ftp site and checked it on the web and things were all fucked up.  Don't you hate it when things don't go as plan and then you got to spend the next few hours figuring out what is the problem.  Well I went through everything and I think I got it.  Hopefully.

Man Down

My good friend Denver Dan had a car turn left in front of him last Saturday night on his way home.  The Speed Merchant Triumph sorry to say is probably trashed.  Good news is  it is covered by insurance and Denver Dan will probably have a new Triumph under him soon enough.  Get some rest and heal up my friend.

Ryan Cox: 68 Triumph TR6

Read the story on Ryan's Triumph in the new Greasy Kulture Magazine Issue 25.  I drove out to Ryan's late on a Saturday afternoon and by the time we got to shooting the sun was almost down.  This was actually my first shot that I did at night and I think it came out pretty good.  Ever since then I really dig shooting real late after noon and into the nights now. You get a lot more colors from the sky, night lights and other lights the turn on after dark.  As soon as I catch up on work I am calling Ryan again beacause he has a pretty cool Panhead that I would love to shoot. Enjoy for now.
