Dive N Surf Photoshoot

Was out and about around the City Of El Segundo today doing a photoshoot for Dive N Surf.  For the last month I've been busy developing a brand image for Dive N Surf to market at a upcoming licensing show in Vegas in June.  Been busy building the booth, calling in artists Adam Nickel, Jon Contino and John Edwards to create some graphics, my buddy Matt Chernega cut and fabricated some letters and I also used the talents of Harpoon to make me a sign.  Still got lots to do and hopefully everything falls into place and the final outcome turns out the way I want it.  Cross your fingers.

Friday Photoshoot

Did a photoshoot last Friday at the Brixton located at Redondo Beach Pier. It was for the local retail store Dive N Surf and Body Glove Watches. The Dive Bar at the Brixton was pretty cool inside and had a lot of cool set ups.

DIve Training.

I spent the last few days photographing some of Body Glove's surf team riders as they go through the process of getting certified for diving.
Day 1 is classroom.
Day 2 they go out to the pool and practice their underwater skills.
Part of the training they need to tread water for 10 mins and swim 16 laps.
Here they are doing their skills test in the shallow end of the pool.
One of the test the instructor shuts the air off from the tank to show you how it feels when your out of air.
Dive Instructor: Scott Smith.  Scott also works with me at Body Glove.  He is the video and edit guy.  Great guy and fun to hang out with.
Here the class is ready to drop down the anchor line.  It was a perfect day for diving.  The weather was clear and little swell in the water which made for good visibility down below.
Scott Smith having the class perform their skills down at 40 feet.
After they do their skill tests Scott takes them on a little tour around the bottom of the ocean.
Mike Losness (Body Glove Team Pro Surfer) with his wife Ally.

The class swimming around through the kelp.  They had to 2 dives on Tuesday and another 2 on Wednesday.  Once they complete that then they are certified to go down to 60 feet.

Dive N Surf Bikini Models

Friday afternoon I went down to the Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach to shoot the Dive N Surf bikini models.  I snapped off a few shots of each girl and then had to go back to the office and design a poster for them to sign later that night.  Everybody seemed to be happy with their shots although I got two names wrong on the poster.  So we did a quick reprint and out they went.

Dive N Surf Lobster Fest

Down at the Dive N Surf Lobster Fest in Redondo Beach today.  Lobster season started last night at 12 and this is part of that celebration.  Dive N Surf sponsored it and had tons of Lobster dinners, vendors, fashion show, bands and wakeboard exhibition.  Although it was overcast the place was packed.  People seemed to be enjoying themselves.  It goes on tomorrow also. So if your in the area stop by and check it out.

Shelby Kantar during the Wakeboard exhibition.  They were being pulled by a wench, hitting the rail and the finishing it off on the ramp to pull more tricks.  Although when they landed they needed to be in control to avoid ramming into a fountain pole.  I'll post photos of the bikini models starting on Monday.
