More Photoshoots Today

Spent the day shooting lifestyle shots, editing photos, late surf photo session at Rocky Point and dinner at Ted's Bakery.  Spent the rest of the night going through photos and then up tomorrow and shoot the Backdoor Shootout contest.

Waited all day for Jamie to paddle out at Pipe so I could get some shots.  At the end of the day he paddles out, but with 2 boards.  He would paddle on both boards, get into the wave and then switch boards and go Backdoor.  He did it a few times with success and this one he just couldn't make it out of the wave.  I have a hard time surfing on one board let alone 2.

Day 1 On The North Shore -Hawaii

Spending the week in Hawaii on the North Shore shooting some surfing for the week.  Spent all day on the beach today getting a few shots to work with.  More to come tomorrow.  Got a sequence shot of Jamie O'Brien trying something new and different at Backdoor today as well. Word in the line up is that Wednesday is supposed to be the day that will be the best of the season.  Sun is out and the surf is pumping.  Looking forward to shooting more surf throughout the week.

Pac Man - Pinstriper/Artist

A while back now I sat down with Pac Man at a sandwich shop down in Venice and we talked about his life, influences and how he started pinstriping.  I plan to make it the next Joyrides Showcase, but it's been so long that he has some new developments in his life that I need to add to the story.  Anyways, I'm off to Hawaii for a photoshoot.  I will post photos from the North Shore during the week.  Hopefully the waves are still big while I'm there.

2011 Photo Recap

2011 was a busy year for me. I am grateful for the support of the magazines that let me contribute to their pages.  Guy of Greasy Kulture, Souichi of Flywheels, Jeff at Street Chopper, Eric at Hot Bike and Matt and Dean at Dice.  You guys give me a reason to keep plugging forward and I look forward to more photoshoots in 2012.  I have been fortunate to meet quite a few new people this past year and if it wasn't for their love and passion for motorcycles and cars I wouldn't have much to shoot. Ventura Photoshoot

Had a good time down in Ventura this past week shooting with Kurt Morrow, Kim Allen and Alan Braff.  Got a lot bikes shot and now working on the edits.  It was great to see Kurt's creations up close and really see the small details that he put's into his work.  Thanks Kurt. Glad I was able to shoot photos with you. See you soon.

Kurt Morrow - Ventura Motorworks

I was out in Ventura today.  Drove up there to see Kurt Morrow.  I was introduced to him a few years back at the Born Free 2 show by Alan Braff.  Alan had his Triumph worked on by Kurt and told me I should come down and shoot with him.  Well finally after a few years of wanting to shoot with Kurt I finally made my way down there.  I shot a few bikes he had at the shop and plan to edit photos this week. Stay tuned.

I was down in OC visiting my friend Kris Bareng, owner of DePalma Clothing Co.  Super cool set up and it was great talking story.  Kris I was still laughing about the story of the guy who came in and wanted to speak to someone about a job.  That is straight out of a Saturday Night Live skit or something.  Keep rollin and see you soon.
